1) Develop a rapid extraction procedure for easily extractable soil protein N (i.e., glomalin-related). 2) Develop a commercializable soil N test (based on the detection of easily-extractable soil protein) that could be licensed to others or developed further in-house. 3) Field test the procedure (small plot fertilizer N study) against other standard soil N tests and develop yield response curves for each to determine which test best correlates with crop yield.
