Lead Researcher (PI): Ravindra Chibbar
Institution: University of Saskatchewan
Total WGRF Funding: $151,800
Co-Funders: None
Start Date: 2011
Project Length: 3 Years
Objectives:

To study Canadian, Scandinavian and Russian wheat and rye germplasms with varying levels of cold hardiness. The most effective genes will be identified and be recommended for introgression into Canadian wheat germplasm to increase their low temperature tolerance and winter survival.
