Objectives:

To coordinate the efforts of western provincial entomologists, industry agrologists and scientists from universities and AAFC, in developing strategies to reduce economic and environmental risks through insect pest management, in the short term by developing and implementing a region-wide pest monitoring and risk warning program, and in the long term by developing a quantitative database of insect populations integral to the evolution of risk-reduction strategies in response to future changes in agronomic practices, crops and climate.
