Objectives:

To identify new sources of wheat midge resistance in wild relatives of wheat and transfer to spring wheat lines. To identify wheat midge reactions that can be used to diagnose different resistance genes. To screen wheat midge from numerous sites in western Canada to determine if any virulent strains exist that are capable of attacking resistant lines.
